The semester is in full swing at Ohio State, and our chapter members have been keeping themselves busy.
From band practice and intramural sports to studying and attending club meetings, our Scholars are always striving for success.
This year our chapter has 23 New Scholars, and it has been a blast getting to know them so far. Each New Scholar brings a fresh perspective to our community, and we love how easily they have adjusted to being a part of the Evans Scholars family.
While it is always fun to welcome new faces into our chapter, the autumn semester is also an exciting time for our seniors as they accept job offers, look for internships and apply to graduate schools.
With so many Scholars to celebrate, it is often difficult to pick just a few to highlight. Recently our chapter has chosen to honor junior Quentin Pruneau as Scholar of the Summer and New Scholars Keaton Melendez and Paxton Kelley as Scholars of September and October. Quentin and Keaton are both extremely talented pianists and have been recognized for their musical abilities. Quentin and his band, Christopher Robin, have recently had their music uploaded to both Spotify and Apple Music. This is a great honor for any musician, and we hope that the band continues to succeed. Take a second to check them out! Keaton Melendez was recently hired to play the piano at the Longaberger Alumni House for Ohio State Director of Operations, Larry Moore. Earlier in the semester Keaton was playing piano in the Ohio Union when Mr. Moore hear him. Mr. Moore was so impressed by Keaton's playing that he invited Keaton to play regularly at the Longaberger Alumni House. Paxton Kelley, the October Scholar of the Month was recently hired by the Ohio State dive team to be their head manager. As the manager, Paxton helps with film, technique and recruiting. He is a perfect example of a Scholar who has achieved a position of respect in our community.
We are so proud of our Scholars and look forward to celebrating more achievements in the future!
