Autumn Scholars of the Semester

The spring semester is rapidly approaching and the fall semester already seems like a distant memory. From having fun at chapter activities to spending time studying for exams, the fall season was a great one at Ohio State. It is very important that our chapter takes a minute to highlight some of the Scholars who helped make the semester so successful. Here are the Scholars of the Month from the autumn semester.

Scholar of the Summer: Anthony Bauer
Hailing from Western Hills Country Club in Cincinnati, Anthony is a junior studying computer science and engineering. Over summer break, Anthony spent his time working at Chemical Abstracts Service as an innovation intern. As soon as school started Anthony could be found hitting the books in the library or taking a break playing spikeball in the front yard. Anthony's favorite parts about this semester are all of the times he got to spend with other Scholars playing paintball, canoeing or just hanging out. He has big plans for next semester; Anthony will be studying abroad in Shanghai at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. This will be a great opportunity to enhance his education as well as experience the culture of a university on the other side of the world. We are so proud of Anthony and are excited to hear about his experiences in China.

Scholar of September: Teresa Callahan
This semester we had the pleasure of welcoming Teresa, a Scholar transferring from Miami, into our chapter. Teresa caddied at Clovernook Country Club in Cincinnati and is currently a sophomore studying finance. From the moment Teresa entered our chapter we knew she was a perfect fit. Teresa consistently goes out of her way to make sure that the people around her are taken care of. She even drove a fellow Scholar to class every day for a few weeks during the semester. Teresa's favorite part about the semester was getting to know her new chapter and participating in all of the chapter activities. Next semester, Teresa will be a financial counselor to other Ohio State students through Scarlett and Gray Financial Services. We are thrilled that Teresa decided to join our family at Ohio State; she truly embodies what it means to be an Evans Scholar.

Scholar of October: JT Grugen
JT is s sophomore sports industry major from Kenwood Country Club in Cincinnati. He is notorious for dabbing and can be seen performing the popular dance move at almost every single Evans Scholars function. JT loves participating in chapter activities and is always looking for more ways to give back to the people around him. Next semester JT is looking into several different internship opportunities with sports teams throughout Ohio. He is also planning on running for a position on our executive board so he can help make sure our chapter continues to thrive. We cannot wait to see where all of JT's hard work takes him.

Scholar of November: Kody Kathman
Kody is a senior economics major from Western Hills Country Club in Cincinnati. Kody's favorite part of this semester was learning more about economic theory in all of his major classes. While studying economics is a ton of work, Kody was still able to find enough time to get engaged. We cannot wait for the wedding! Kody also gave up some of his time to give back to his community in Cincinnati. He helped raise money and collect clothing to give to a family in need in his hometown. Next semester Kody will be looking for a job in Cincinatti as he finishes his time as a Buckeye. Kody has shown us what it looks like to serve your community and we are honored that he is a member of our chapter.
